Time for the Tiger Growl Campout!

We had a wonderful time for Logan's first campout with the Tiger Scouts. We finished up Logan's final basketball game and then headed out to set up camp. We got there and started to put up our tent as the rain started to come down. The campout was on though - Rain or Shine and boy, did it Rain!! We went on our way to do activities as it poured down. James stayed behind to do final touches on the tent (dig trenches - apparently they aren't allowed anymore we found out) and started a fantastic fire. Logan earned his BB gun belt loop and completed several electives as we went from place to place. Logan tripped and needed a bandaid on our way to the bathroom, but as luck would have it, not only did we get to the bathroom and got a bandaid, we also got to make easy trail mix. Perfect for hungry campers.
As the day wore on the rain would ease up, so we could gather wood. It poured down again before dinner, but the fire continued on. Kudos for James!! All the scouts had fun cooking their various dinners, hot dogs and such before having the highlight of the evening S'mores! After the ending program, the scouts went to bed and the adults had baked apples made by (yes, you guessed it) James. The kids slept in the sleeping bags on the ground while James and I slept on the air mattress that I blew up. I was thinking we were going to be on the ground too, cause I just didn't have enough air. Luckily I was able to accomplish the task. Logan did crawl in the bags with us sometime during the night as the rain once again came down.
The next morning was breakfast, the morning devotional, and break camp. It was super cold and after all the rain from the previous day, Logan and Aurora were a wee bit whiny putting on still damp shoes. They enjoyed the bacon, pancakes, and doughnuts made for breakfast. Once we arrived home, we put the tent back up to let it dry out and pack it nicer. It was a very successful first campout that was NOT in the backyard (as Aurora requested)!
